BRAZE ALLOYS
Brazing is the joining of two base materials with a filler metal. According to the American Welding Society ® (AWS) brazing temperatures must be below the melting point of the two base materials and the filler metal must have a melting point above 450 C (840 F) to enable smooth flow.
Brazing is sometimes done using a heating torch or induction heating but is mainly performed in a furnace with a controlled vacuum atmosphere of hydrogen, nitrogen-hydrogen etc.
